Is Warwick Castle worth it? Wow, I had planned on visiting Warwick Castle with my brother and sister-in-law and their two girls, aged 15 and 18 when we are in England in July. The oldest is very ...
We also managed to visit Kennilworth castle and have dinner with my grandparents that same day – it was a long day, but so worth it! Finding Warwick castle is very easy, however, what I did not like was the fact that we had to pay £6 for parking (which you do when you leave), add that on top of the ticket prices that you have to pay and it is a VERY expensive day out.
Yes, Warwick Castle is a playground now, yes it can be busy, yes you need a wealthy banker as a friend to get in, but it is in fabulous shape for an old castle, it does look as it always did but cleaner, and it really allows you to see and imagine it as it was in Elizabethan times. A visit to Warwick Castle, was even better than hoped – the sun shone and the sky was blue, providing the most perfectly elegant backdrop to a day of fun and adventure. It didn’t matter that the Castle (indoors) was still closed to visitors when we visited in early April, because in-and-among the gloriously green grounds, there lay an activity trail: Zog and the Quest for the Golden Star .
