Knapp's Castle was rumored to be under development in recent years and I avoided going there. It is probably at least a dozen years since I tried to go in. On Saturday there were quite a few visitors and no signs saying to keep out. But, sure enough, the place was under major re-construction.

Hello. Knapp's Castle was built by Union Carbide founder George Owen Knapp. Knapp purchased the land in 1916, and the "castle" was built over the course of four years. There were seven buildings, all made from sandstone blocks.
Looks like new construction. When we visited in April of 2019, there appears to be plenty of recent construction going on. As of this writing, Knapp’s Castle is still open to the public. Possible changes to the ruins in the future, so visit while you can.
